Razorback
A past-producing tin mine with a second large tin-copper system on the same fault corridor.
Australia's premier hard-rock tin district
Razorback is Mondo's flagship. It is a former producing tin mine in the most productive tin district in Australia, with a second, larger tin-copper system along the same structural corridor and more than a kilometre of poorly tested ground between the two. The project is the anchor of the planned tin and tungsten listing.
Past production
The mine operated in the 1970s using gravity processing that recovered a low share of the tin, so it ran at a loss despite the grade.
Modern processing
Recent metallurgical testwork suggests modern processing could materially improve tin recovery.
Open system
Earlier drilling often stopped short of the main host rock. The system remains open at depth and along strike.
Geological setting
Tin mineralisation sits in replacement and vein styles along a regional fault corridor that also hosts copper. Several separate deposits and prospects with historical estimates sit within the project area. Neighbouring projects in a similar geological setting have defined JORC-compliant tin resources, which supports the district model.
Drill results, historical estimates, tenement schedules and budgets are available to eligible wholesale investors in the data room, under a confidentiality agreement. Exploration information is historical or preliminary and is not reported under the JORC Code (2012). See the important notice.
How we plan to advance it
The program is staged. Each step is funded only if the previous one justifies it.
Data validation
Recover, check and digitise historic drilling, mapping and production records.
3D modelling
Build a three-dimensional geological model to target the host rock at depth.
Geophysics
Run surveys to map the corridor between the two tin systems.
Diamond drilling
Drill a focused program designed to support a first JORC Mineral Resource.
RC drilling and resource modelling
Extend drilling across both systems and estimate a resource.
How value is realised
Once a resource is defined, the options include toll treatment through a nearby processing plant, a sale to an operating producer, or a joint venture. The district already has roads, power, rail and processing infrastructure.
Listing
Vended into the planned tin and tungsten company for equity.
Joint venture or option
A partner funds work to earn an interest.
Sale or royalty
Sold outright, with Mondo keeping a royalty.
